Old School

Yesterday Audrey Claire and I went to Rowan Elementary in Hattiesburg. That's the school where I taught last year. I have been several times this school year to visit but haven't taken her since May 2009. I was excited to show them how big she has gotten. She was a little overwhelmed at first and didn't want anyone but me holding her but she finally came around! We started out in the library and once the students left, she was all over the place!

Look Mommy, a baby! (Which is actually Mrs. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus series)
This one is blurry because she was running to the books!
Oh look!
Somebody needed to rest.
This is Ms. Goodman. She was my "next door neighbor" and assigned mentor teacher but ended up being so much more! There is no way I would have made it through the year without this woman. She did things for me that most people would never think about doing including spending some of her Christmas break at the school with me writing lesson plans for my maternity leave! She is now the Librarian at Rowan and having a ball with it.
This is Mrs. Husband. She was a parent to one of my favorite students (yes I had favorites) and also the SPED teacher who came to my room everyday to assist a student. She was great!
Here is Mrs. Frierson. She was my "across the hall" neighbor and our "Instructional Technologist". She is also a person I absolutely would not have made it without! I could always call on her and she was very willing to help out or even take over when I'd taken all I could take!
There were many more ladies that I just didn't manage to get pictures of. God placed so many women at Rowan that I really needed throughout the year. They all helped get me through one of the toughest years of my life!

It was also nice seeing some of my students. I won't lie, it made me feel great to see how excited they were to see me.
