Birthday party at the Jackson Zoo

First, I apologize at the terrible job I've done at blogging this week! Second, we went to a birthday party for a very special little girl, Sara Madalin, at the Jackson Zoo last weekend. Seth was working and I don't like going anywhere by myself with a 16 month old. Well, anywhere that's more than 10 minutes from home. So ReRe and Pops went with us. We decided to go a little early to walk around before the party and Michelle and Madison decided to join us. Despite the wonderful, muggy, Mississippi weather, we had a blast!

Here we are riding the carousel. She wouldn't ride an animal which didn't bother me too much because I got sit down!
Part of the party package was an animal encounter. After a slight mixup by the zoo staff, the kids got to see a bird and this turtle. At first, the worker brought out a snake! You read that correctly, I said A SNAKE! She got within 12 inches of me and I was like "Um, I believe you have the wrong party".
Enjoying the water sprayers. A nice cool-down on a hot day!
I am pretty sure they were talking about boys right here:)
No trip to the zoo is complete without taking a picture looking at the prairie dogs! Too bad there are none in sight here...
She loves letting a fan blow on her!
Petting Zoo time! She actually pet a pig. I couldn't believe she did it. Walking into the petting zoo, the worker said "Only touch the pigs and the goats". My response to him was "Honey, don't you worry about me. I am not touching ANY of these animals".
Madison pet the pig too
Such a diva!
All that activity made somebody a sleepy little girl!

  1. Thank ya'll again for coming out on such a hot day. It was good to see you and your parents. I'm glad AC had a great time. They are so funny in that picture where they are looking at each other. We'll have to get together again soon.
