The past few weeks have been VERY crazy and hectic for us. Seth went to Israel and he's now in Atlanta. Also, Audrey Claire decided she no longer wanted to sleep in her bed. Instead, she wanted to sleep on the couch! Random, I know. She would scream uncontrollably when you even mentioned her sleeping in her bed. In the past month, she's slept on the living room floor, the couch, my bed, and even here~
It's been a very long and hard process but we are finally starting to make progress. I thought maybe the reason she didn't want to sleep in her bed was because she felt trapped or something like that. I started thinking maybe it was time for the toddler bed. Also, earlier this month, we were at Judah's house and AC said "couch" when she saw his toddler bed. When Seth got home from Israel, he converted her bed. (For the 2nd time actually. The 1st time was a disaster.) First night she slept in it, I went in to check on her and this is how I found her~
She hasn't fallen out as many times as she did the first time we attempted the toddler bed. Instead, she crawls out and helps herself to the couch. (Seth has seriously found her on the couch several times in the middle of the night since the "conversion"!) Nevertheless, she no longer screams when we head for bed. We've also started a new bedtime routine which includes reading stories. So far it's working pretty well! Now if we could just keep her in her bed all night instead of her sneaking to the couch, we'll be doing great!
That is hilarious! At least she isn't sneaking into your bed like mine does. I would tell her the couch is all hers!
ReplyDeleteBless her sweet heart. Hope she starts sleeping all night in her bed soon. I believe in that bedtime routine. We've tried to have one with SM since the beginning and I think that's one reason she sleeps so well now. Our problem isn't getting her to go to sleep and stay all night. Our dilemma is getting her to sleep past 6:30 every morning.
