Little Picasso

Lately, Audrey Claire has started showing interest in drawing. She is always trying to grab pens and pencils off Seth's desk so she can draw. Earlier this week I gave her a highlighter and let her go.
All that drawing made somebody hungry. Once again, feeding herself!

Big Girl Food

Audrey Claire is FINALLY starting to eat what I call "big-girl food"! She has been such a picky eater from day one so this is huge. It all started this past Friday at lunch. I got out the baby food and AC wanted nothing to do with it. She screamed when I put it in her mouth. I knew she had to be hungry so I made her a sandwich and she loved it! Here are a few pictures of her eating "big-girl food" over the weekend~

Yay for Mommy's Big Girl!!!
Yummy peanut butter sandwich
Here she is making sure Daddy was eating his chicken too
Mmmmmm! This is good!
Some people may think I'm silly for taking so many pictures and making such a big deal about her eating but getting her to eat has been such a chore lately. This made me one happy momma.

9 months

My little monkey is 9 months old now! I have no idea where the last month went. She has so many new tricks these days. Here is what she is up to-
  • She is crawling ALL over the place. She now goes from room to room as she pleases. She likes to stay right up under me most of the time!
  • She is trying hard to pull herself up but hasn't quite mastered it yet. A lot of times, I prop her up to something so she can practice standing. She loves it!
  • She talks all the time. She says "Dada" a lot. She is starting to say "Nana" more which is her version of "Mama". Just can't get that m sound out yet. I will take what I can get! She also says "No, No" and knows exactly what it means! She already hates hearing those words.
  • She weighs 21 pounds and is in size 4 diapers!
  • Her new favorite past time is dancing. She loves when we play music or sing. She is a dancing machine!
  • She no longer stays laying down in her bed after she wakes up. This is how we find her-
  • I even found her like this one time-
  • She no longer wants a pacifier. As a matter of fact, I found all of these behind her bed a few weeks ago-
  • Instead, she prefers to suck on a blanket when she sleeps. Weird, I know. But at least we don't have to worry about a blanket messing up her teeth! She has a blanket that she sleeps with every night but I guess it was in the washing machine when I took this picture. She will grab anything close to her and put it in her mouth if the blanket is not available.
  • She is eating like a champ these days! We have a pretty good routine going and she definitely has her likes and dislikes. Her favorites are apples, pears, bananas, sweet potatoes, squash, and green beans. I have to sneak peas and carrots into those occasionally!
  • Lastly, she has 4 teeth now. Two on top and two on bottom!
I can't wait to see what the next month holds for us!

Green Beans Anyone?

This is a post I have been trying to upload ALL WEEK! Seth finally helped me with the video.

Here is a video from Sunday night's first attempt at baby food. We tried green beans that night but have since tried squash. As you can see from the video, she wasn't a fan of green beans. She ate the squash much better. This morning I tried them both again and she really liked when I mixed the two. Gross I know, but whatever it takes! I am gonna get some fruit next! If she is anything like me, she will love any kind of fruit.

Since this video, we have tried bananas and prunes. She liked the prunes when I mixed them with the squash or green beans. The bananas however, I mixed with her cereal and she hated them. I am not gonna give up on them! Eventually maybe she will like them! And, she will actually eat the green beans by themselves now!!

Last night, I went to Wal-Mart and got a steamer basket and some fresh fruits and veggies and made some baby food!! It was really easy and much cheaper. I made sweet potatoes and carrots. I plan on making some more this week!
