Louisville

Seth and I had an amazing trip to Louisville. We really enjoyed visiting with Matthew and Annie as well as some of their seminary friends. We played games, ate, and just sat around catching up with each other's lives.
Matthew and Annie had to work during the day so Seth and I got to explore the city a little on our own. We enjoyed having lunch dates and just adult time in general! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my little monkey, but it was nice to have a quiet meal and "big people" conversation.

Here we are enjoying a nice game of Scattergories. We had lots of fun with this game. Especially when Seth somehow got mixed up and completely used the wrong letter for an entire round. (But shhh, don't tell him I told you!)

Here's "Fourth Street Live" Normally, this is the place to be at night. However, when the temps are in the low teens, it should be called "Fourth Street Dead". I am pretty sure we saw no one while walking around that night.
We drove into Indiana to get a good look at the city lit up at night time. It was truly beautiful. You can't really see it, but the Ohio River is what is between us and Louisville in these pictures.
Love them :)
This was the first night we drove into Indiana to see the city. We wanted to take pictures but forgot the camera!
Here are pictures of our trip to Churchill Downs. In case you don't know (because I didn't), this is where the Kentucky Derby takes place. It's kind of a big deal up there :)

It was beautiful!
This was the day before we left. That lake behind us is one huge sheet of ice!
I forgot to mention how COLD it was up there. (In case you couldnt't tell from the scarves, hats, and jackets in the pics) Oh my goodness. When we woke up in the morning, it was usually 10-11 degrees with a wind chill in the negatives and didn't get above 30 the entire time we were there! I was excited when I heard how cold it was going to be because all I could imagine was snow everywhere and sledding down big hills. Well, that didn't happen. Because it didn't start snowing until literally two hours after we left. Not two days, two hours. But I wasn't mad about it. Not at all...
Ok I was really mad. I mean two hours? COME ON. It could've waited until the next day at least. But two hours?! Ugh. And they still have snow on the ground. Oh well.

As you can see, we got to see a lot! We had a blast but were ready to get home to see Audrey Claire. She was just as excited to see us as we were her. The other thing that got her immediate attention was her wagon! Even though it was way past her bedtime when we got home, she had to ride.
Here she is saying "Uh". Which means GO. NOW.
Oh and by the way, my little monkey turns 1 tomorrow! Can you believe it? I absolutely can not! Stay tuned for pictures and a monthly update...
