This past weekend, we made a last minute road trip with my family to Atlanta. Early last week Seth found out he was off for the weekend and my dad and brother had tickets to a Braves game. So we totally invited ourselves and went with them! Audrey Claire stayed at Memaw's house for the weekend so we could just relax. It was so much fun! We laughed so much we cried, stayed up way too late, and probably spent too much money but it was completely worth it.
Friday night we stayed at my mom's cousin's house in Flowery Branch, GA. We enjoyed going to the mall and grilling hamburgers. I didn't even get my camera out! I was just enjoying the moment:)
Saturday morning we got up and headed to Cleveland, GA to Babyland General Hospital. This is no ordinary hospital. It's where Cabbage Patch Babies are born! I was like a kid in a candy store while there. It was like getting to be a little girl again and I loved it!
The new building is huge!
Right as we got there, a new baby was being born. They go through the whole labor process except use "cabbage" terms instead. For example, Mother Cabbage dilates 10 leaves instead of centimeters, etc... They also did a sonogram right before the birth to show us it was a boy!
Here he is!
I was probably WAY too excited about being there but I didn't care. I was fulfilling my childhood dreams! Here I am with the new baby! Notice no shame in my face:)
The Cabbage Patch
Hopefully we can go back someday with Audrey Claire but just in case, we adopted her a new baby while we were there. Pictures are at the end of this post.
After visiting the hospital, we headed to downtown Atlanta for a little shopping before the game. Here we are in Centennial Park.
Right before the game
When we got home, I was excited to introduce Audrey Claire to her new baby. Seth was worried she wouldn't be as excited as I was but I proved him wrong. She loved the baby!
Her name is Piper Catherine
She LOVES being a mommy:)
Fixing her bow
Apparently Piper was tired from all the riding. Audrey Claire was letting her go "night-night".
As you can see from all the pictures, we had an amazing mini-vacation. It was so nice getting to have some adult time. However, I missed my little monkey and loved the kisses I came home to!
