Our Little Visitor

Let me just warn you, this is kinda long and there are no pictures of Audrey Claire but it's definitely worth reading!

Monday night as we were unpacking the car, I heard Seth yelling. I immediately knew what was going on without even looking. You see, earlier last week, there was a rather large spider in one of the corners on our front porch. I wanted to kill it but surprisingly, Seth said "No, it's eating all the little bugs. Leave it alone." And being the good wife that I am, I submitted and we left it ;) For several days it stayed in it's little corner not bothering us.
You can probably guess where this is going...
When I heard Seth yell, without looking up I said "I hope that spider got you so good." Boy was I right! You see, Mr. Spider had moved himself and his nice little web right in front of the FRONT DOOR. Seth went to open the door and saw him right before he stepped in the house. If he had taken one more step this little monster would have been sitting on his nose. If you know Seth very well, he is terrified of spiders, which is why I was really confused when he wouldn't let me kill it in the first place. Anyway, he had to go across the road to get a big stick to close the door with because he was afraid to get close again. Again, being the good wife I am, I immediately got the camera to document this "I-told-you-so" situation. Here's what the situation looked like from a distance.
Doesn't look too big does it? That picture just doesn't do the spider justice. That thing was massive. Here's a closeup~
An even closer shot~
Let me just say that if I had walked up on this thing first, Seth might be a single man right now. I do not like critters of ANY kind.

After I got all the pictures I wanted, I finally made him kill it. Notice how far away he is!
I love having a man around in situations like these.
I can't tell you how hard I was laughing during all this. Hopefully he learned his lesson and from now on, he won't let any spiders live on the front porch!

  1. That is so funny!!! Joseph does not do spiders either. They don't bother me, but I don't get very close to them either. Tell Seth that he did a great job!
